Meet Dr. Beuttell

Dr. Beuttell has practiced general dentistry in Northfield, Illinois since 1971. He believes continuing education is a critical part of providing care for his patients, so he spends many hours every year taking classes to learn more about the latest techniques, materials and equipment available. With his expertise in prosthetics, which demands knowledge in occlusion, cosmetics, implants, TMJ disorders and the interrelationship of all of the components of the masticatory system, he is well-qualified to take care of all dental needs.

Dr. Beuttell's professional experiences as a youth provided inspiration and motivation to launch his career. While he was an undergraduate student, he ran a weekly clinic to provide free care to indigent children, and was presented with an award from the American Academy of Pedodontics for his care of children.

He received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1967 and his D.D.S. degree with honors from Northwestern University Dental School in 1971, where he was in the Top 10 of his class.

He taught from 1971-1973 at the Northwestern University Dental School and then at The Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Hospital Residency Program from 1973-1979 and again from 1981-1983. His educational mentors have been Drs. Stuart, Peter K. Thomas, Niles Guichet and Peter Dawson.

Dr. Beuttell was a pioneer in the use of computerized single-visit inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneers. In January 1990, he began using the Cerec™ System and has completed over 6,000 Cerec restorations. Since 1997 he has trained hundreds of other dentists from across the nation and globe. He has authored three training manuals and many dental journal articles for the Cerec System. He is a certified Master Trainer for the International Society of Computerized Dentistry, and is a member of The Academy of Computerized Dentistry.

Meet the Staff

It is our team that really makes the difference at Northview Dental Associates. Our staff members have worked with Dr. Beuttell for an average of 16 years each! You will find that they always treat you with professionalism, respect, gentleness and good-natured warmth. You can count on us to take the necessary time to get to know you, explain your dental treatment options thoroughly, and discuss them completely.

Sha’Myah
Dental Assistant

Sha'Myah

Sha’Myah is the newest member of our team, having joined us in 2015. She trained as a dental assistant for ten weeks before starting and since then has learned a lot more—she is a great assistant. In her spare time Sha’Myah likes to read and do word search puzzles, and also assists her pastor at her church.

An Evanston resident, Sha’Myah has relatives in Mississippi and likes to get down there as frequently as possible—especially in the winter!

Joan
Dental Hygienist

Joan

Joan came to us from Rochester, N.Y. in 1981 as a brand new hygienist. She started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant in Oral Surgery for five years. She then worked at the University of Detroit Dental School working with graduate students in the Endodontic department for four years. She then decided to go back to school to get her hygiene degree. Joan also taught dentists to use the Cerec System from 1994 to 2003.

She worked in our Evanston office for fifteen years, then moved to our current location in 1997. She also worked with Dr. Staffileno in his periodontal practice as a hygienist for sixteen years. Joan has a wonderful sense of humor and can often be heard laughing with her patients.

She lives in Chicago.

Gale

Gale is very accomplished at doing anything that involves a needle or thread.

She lives in Northfield with her husband Don, and has five grandchildren who live close by and keep her very busy.

Becky joined us in 2006. She works one day a week as a hygienist for a dental office in Grayslake and is here Tuesday through Thursday.

Becky is definitely a “worker bee." She does a great job taking great care of our patients. She loves to take care of our youngest patients so they are often appointed with her.
